SoFloDining Vlog review of Brutus Restaurant & Seafood Market
During one of our visits to the Keys last
year I did some research on Cuban Sandwiches in the Middle Keys. I found that a small Seafood Market in
Marathon named Brutus was known to have the best around. Therefore, on our way back home we smuggled 3
“Cubans” back home with us. Well I can
tell you that YES this place indeed does make the Best Cuban Sandwiches
around. They are so good in fact that I
came back to review Brutus Restaurant & Seafood Market and I took home 3
more as well. We arrived on a Friday about 15 minutes after opening to find the
place filling up very quickly. Apparently the locals know and love this place
too. We ordered 2 sandwiches from the
extensive menu, the Mojo Pork and a Fried Shrimp Po Boy. Both sandwiches were delicious; the Mojo Pork
must have a secret ingredient because I tasted something different and loved
it. As for the Fried Po Boy, I could not
put it down. It is made with fresh Pink Key Shrimp and it was fried just right.
From what I understand one Saturday in early April when the
Keys were shut down owner “Elise Mucha of Brutus Seafood and Kate Koler of
Sweet Savannah’s” Served free hot lunches to locals.
Tips & Notes:
· They have a large parking lot with plenty of parking.
· Get there early because they fill up fast.
· Best Cuban Sandwiches in Marathon.
